Therapy helps you overcome life’s challenges.
Hi, I’m a nontraditional, interactive psychotherapist who is compassionate and passionate about my work. I begin by asking you what brought you into therapy and what you see as your goals and dreams. I take a history to see if we can determine what you are holding on to from your past and blocking your way forward.
You will see me as your coach, advocate, and biggest supporter. I will call you on your unhealthy behavior. Rather than continually asking you, “How do you FEEL about that?” I tend to say on a humorous and nonjudgmental note, “What the hell were you thinking?”
I caution my clients not to beat themselves up but to learn and grow from any unhealthy behavior. You’re going to feel comfortable with me in therapy. I guarantee it.
We will share some laughs and hilarious and lighthearted moments along the way.

“Worrying is making plans for things you don’t want to happen.” – Abraham Hicks
Helping others live mindfully is my mission.
Mindfulness is an essential part of psychotherapy. I have been a licensed clinical social worker in Connecticut and California for over 30 years and have studied mindfulness since 2007. I feel the difference it makes in my life, and I see the difference it makes in the lives of others.
Throughout therapy, we use mindfulness to stay present. You’ll become aware of the negative voices that are holding you back or sparking worry and fear with useless predictions for the future. (My client calls this “future tripping.”) Are you a fortune teller? If so, what am I having for breakfast tomorrow morning? You will develop skills for mindful self-compassion, learning how to be kind to yourself, and how to remain in the present moment.
We’ll use a lot of humor along the way. Always know you are not alone! As your advocate and mentor, I will walk this journey with you as long as it takes.
I am a high-energy East Coast therapist who incorporates mindfulness daily in my own life. You will see the benefits of mindfulness as I have in dealing with the most difficult situations in your life.
About Michelle Webber, LCSW
Growing up in our household was engaging and exciting.
I was born in New Haven, Connecticut. My dad was a standup comedian and singer who later became a powerful liberal politician, and my mom was a professional dancer in Vaudeville.
Politicians, governors, senators, mayors, actors, and theatre people frequently showed up at my home, which opened the door for me to learn about people of various cultures and backgrounds. Music always played in my home, and conversations involved politics and theatre.
Becoming involved in entertainment was part of my early life. I studied acting and improvisation and have performed on both the East and West Coasts. As a result, I work in therapy with entertainment industry professionals in Los Angeles.

“If you are going through Hell, keep going.” – Winston Churchill
Feel less overwhelmed by being fully present and aware.
I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut and trained in the Department of Psychiatry and the Drug Dependence Institute at Yale University. I started volunteering at a young age with underserved families in impoverished neighborhoods.
My experience includes directing numerous mental health and substance abuse treatment programs for adolescents and their families and pregnant addicts and their babies. I’ve had a mindfulness-based private practice for many years. I incorporate mindfulness into my daily life, a significant aspect of my private practice.
I look forward to meeting you, collaborating with you, and helping you live the life you want. I love the work I do, and I can’t wait to meet you!
