You want the world to know – but how?
You are exploring LGBTQIA+ in ways you aren’t sure you are ready to come to terms with.
Gaining an understanding of your sexual orientation or gender identity more completely and accepting yourself for who you are is something you want.
It’s important to you to walk through the world with confidence.
Let’s discover what might be holding you back from the acceptance you want and deserve.
Transitioning can feel both empowering and challenging.
As challenging as it is physically and emotionally, your parents may not be helping your confidence. Some may be supportive, while others may be dismissive, confused, angry, or disappointed and question your choices.
Some friends you thought you could trust may have become distant. At times, you are misgendered or body-shamed for your appearance. Your interactions with people are changing.
It becomes evident that you must make different lifestyle choices and may feel lost while going through this.
Coming to terms with who you are during this transition can be difficult. Support from someone who understands can make the transition easier. Let me be that someone for you.
Relationships take work.
You’re in a new queer marriage or relationship, excited about the future: parenting, a house, travel, financial planning, etc., and you aren’t always on the same page regarding specific issues.
People come from different backgrounds and cultures. Expectations in a partnership can differ based on how you grew up and your environment.
Whether you are gay, trans, or bi, we can discuss this together to determine if you can and want to make this relationship work.
In Couples Therapy we’ll explore the changes you might need to incorporate to help this relationship move forward if that is your choice.
Done hiding.
You’re in a heterosexual marriage and have been questioning your sexuality and hiding this from your family and community.
To satisfy your need for companionship of your preferred gender, you have been placing yourself in precarious situations.
With these people, you can be the self you have kept hidden, but living with this secret is unsustainable.
You realize it’s time to be honest about yourself and live your truth.
Express your challenges in this safe space.
As an LGBTQIAP2+ person, you may struggle with acceptance from family members, friends, your community, and even yourself. If you are suffering because of prejudice, facing the stress of coming out, or simply looking for support, I want to help.
Over the past three decades, I have worked with clients with diverse identities (queer, gay, bi, lesbian, femme, non-binary, questioning, trans, poly, pan, and more). Additionally, I specialize in working with individuals living with HIV and AIDS. I practice sex-positive and gender-affirming therapy that incorporates humor and focuses on your needs.
Experience a safe, empowering, and judgment-free space to express your thoughts. You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. I can help you learn self-compassion to deal with criticism and harshness and understand your sexual orientation or gender identities more fully. Unlock new insights and develop a stronger sense of who you are and where you are headed. You’ll develop the ability to speak your truth without fear.
